“Where Children Sleep” by James Mollison is a book about where the children of the world sleep. Some being poor, some being wealthy and some just having enough.
When Mrs. Sattler was reading the book I felt really bad for the poor kids because they really didn’t even have a bed to sleep on! I felt like the rich kids were spoiled and nasty. For example, a four-year-old and his family live on a mattress in a field on the outskirts of Rome, Italy. They used to live in a tent on the side of the road but go kicked out of there for invading someone’s private property. So now when it rains they have to hold up umbrellas while they sit on the mattress so they don’t get wet. While this other kid in the book who is seven-years-old is live the life. He lives in a small apartment but has all the toys in the world if that’s not spoiled then I don’t know what is.
My class had to choose an Overarching question and I chose “What is Fairness”. In my opinion I think that fairness is everyone treated equally no matter the gender, race and their wealthyness.
I think the whole book was awesome! It shows that if you are having a bad day then just remember that there’s kids who are having worse days! I think people should read this book. I think for now on when i’m walking around with my family in the city I’ll ask if I can have a dollar and give it to a homeless person.
